Mission Santa Inez

Nickname: (none), built September 17th, 1804, 19th mission.

Impressions:

"Pretty ordinary mission. But the chapel is pretty cool!"

Special Attractions:
  • The chapel is original from the rebuild in 1817.
  • There is a giant mission reservoir preserved in the front.
Significant Events:
  • 1812 a large earthquake crumbles several of the buildings, however most were repaired by 1817.
Interesting Facts:
  • The large concrete cross in the center of the cemetery was made in 1916 from the excess concrete used to rebuild the mission.
