Mission San Antonio de Padua

Nickname: The Mission in the Sierras- July 14th, 1771, 3rd mission.

Impressions:   "Big, tons of cats and squirrels. Lots of fun places to explore."

Special Attractions: Lots of archeological relics to explore like old soldier barracks, and a stone threshing floor. Museum is amazing! Very educational directions on how the mission made each of it's products (tallow, tanning, etc.).

Significant Events: In 1775 it was attacked by a hostile tribe of Native Americans. Interesting Facts The threshing floor has lines of stone in a star pattern. The only mission where you can stay overnight with kids.

Don't Miss: The attic and cellar in the museum. Keep your eyes out for elk on the way in.
